The Wedding of Benjamin & Catharina Lanny at Papandayan Hotel

Orkestra mengiringi prosesi masuk Benjamin & Lanny dengan Canon in D pada pesta pernikahan mereka di Papandayan, dan nuansa ruangan pun terasa sedikit lebih klasik.

Acara diawali solo guzheng yang menghadirkan nuansa Mandarin yang kental. Sesudahnya, beragam pilihan lagu pop, Mandarin, dan instrumental — semuanya pilihan pengantin sendiri — memberi warna yang berganti-ganti dan menghidupkan suasana.

"Saya suka banget dengan lagu From this Moment-nya," ujar salah satu rekan kerja pengantin. Beberapa tamu ikut bernyanyi sambil menikmati lagu tersebut.

Seusai acara, Lanny sang mempelai wanita berkomentar, "Pertama kali kita masuk, udah oke banget musiknya, pas masuk Canon in D-nya... Kualitas penyanyinya oke, soundnya juga oke banget, kompak deh...". Secara keseluruhan, para tamu senang dengan kehadiran orkestra yang tidak mereka sangka bisa disaksikan langsung di sebuah pesta pernikahan.

Orkestra ini didukung pemain-pemain yang sudah dikenal, seperti Tina pada flute, Johan pada trombone, dan Roy pada electric bass.

The orchestra played Canon in D for the processional of Benjamin & Lanny at their wedding reception at the Papandayan, and the room took on a slightly more classical feel.

The evening opened with a guzheng solo and its strong Mandarin colour. After that came a range of pop, Mandarin and instrumental numbers, all chosen by the couple themselves, which kept the mood shifting and alive.

"I really love the From this Moment," said one of the couple's colleagues. Several guests sang along as they listened.

After the reception, Lanny, the bride, told us: "From the moment we walked in the music was already spot on, right on cue with the Canon in D. The singers were good, the sound was very good, everyone was tight." On the whole, the guests were glad to find a live orchestra at a wedding, something they had not expected to see.

The orchestra was joined by well-known players: Tina on flute, Johan on trombone and Roy on electric bass, among others.
